Sewage pumps can be categorized into several types: submerged sewage pumps, in-line (pipeline) sewage pumps, submersible sewage pumps, vertical sewage pumps, corrosion-resistant sewage pumps, acid-resistant sewage pumps, and self-priming sewage pumps.
Common models include the PW series and PWL series sewage pumps.
The PW series typically employs a volute casing for the discharge chamber, whereas internal submersible pumps often utilize radial or channel-type guide vanes.
For the PWL series, the impeller and the discharge chamber are the two core components; their quality directly determines the overall performance of the pump.
With social progress, rising living standards, and heightened environmental awareness, sewage pumps have become widely recognized, and their range of applications continues to expand.
It is worth noting that "sewage pump" is a functional designation; in practice, rubber-lined slurry pumps serve excellently as horizontal sewage pumps. Rubber-lined pumps are widely used for handling industrial wastewater, which often contains acidic or alkaline substances. Industry applications demonstrate that combining a rubber liner with a metal impeller allows the pump to achieve the high pressure and efficiency of a metal pump while fully leveraging the corrosion resistance of the rubber material. When handling municipal sewage, a filtration screen is typically installed upstream of the treatment tank to intercept fibrous materials and debris before they reach the pump inlet; preventing such matter from entering the pump chamber ensures optimal operation and extends the pump's service life.
