1. Pre-commissioning checks: Inspect connections for looseness; manually rotate the coupling to turn the rotor several times, checking for smooth rotation, unusual noises, or uneven resistance (to detect foreign objects, a bent shaft, or improper seal installation); verify that the seal chamber is clean and filled halfway with No. 20 lubricating oil; ensure the pump unit exterior is clean; and perform a no-load rotation test.
2. Manual startup: Prime the pump (for the initial start), slightly open the discharge valve, and start the motor; once pressure rises and the pump unit is confirmed to be running smoothly, gradually open the discharge valve to meet operating requirements.
3. Operational monitoring: During normal operation at line frequency, periodically check and record readings from the ammeter, voltmeter, inlet/outlet vacuum and pressure gauges, and flow meter; monitor the unit for normal vibration, noise, and temperature rise; and ensure there is no significant leakage of aviation fuel at the shaft seal.
4. Normal shutdown: Close the discharge valve to reduce the pump load, then stop the motor.
Emergency shutdown conditions:
(1) Abnormal motor operating current (excessively high or very low); abnormal noise from the pump system.
(2) Abnormal readings on the pump inlet vacuum gauge or outlet pressure gauge; excessive pump vibration accompanied by unusual noise; or severe performance degradation.
(3) Unusual odor from the motor; leakage of aviation fuel at the shaft seal; bearing temperature exceeding 75°C, etc.
