The vertical multistage pump-also known as the CDLF light-duty multistage inline centrifugal pump-is a fluid transport device featuring two or more impellers; it is primarily used in municipal water supply, industrial liquid transfer, and agricultural irrigation. Its flow-contacting components are typically made of 304 or 316 stainless steel, enabling the transport of cold and hot water (ranging from -15°C to 110°C) as well as mildly corrosive media, with a maximum operating pressure of 2.4 MPa.
The pump utilizes a vertical sectional structure, with inlet and outlet ports generally arranged horizontally along the same axis, and incorporates a quick-assembly mechanical seal and a vertical motor. Axial forces are managed through a combination of hydraulic balancing and ball-bearing support, while an intelligent protection device provides safeguards against dry running and overload. Key technical specifications include flow rates of 4.2–504 m³/h and heads of 24–240 m. The pump is characterized by a compact footprint, low noise levels, and high energy efficiency, making it suitable for applications such as high-rise building water supply and drainage, fire protection systems, boiler circulation, and ultrafiltration/reverse osmosis water treatment. Depending on the structural configuration, it is available in "bottom-in/top-out" or "inline" (horizontal-in/horizontal-out) versions, with component options ranging from cast iron to all-stainless steel.
